We are now looking for a Part time (3 days/week) Child and Youth Worker in our DV Services team based at the Orange Orchard. The Orchard is a state-of-the-art emergency accommodation centre for women and their children escaping domestic violence.
Reporting to and working with The Orchard House Manager, the Child & Youth Worker is responsible for delivering best practice support services to Orange Orchard accommodation who require specialist children’s support, direct and tailored services to support children and young people that are trauma informed, family centred and culturally safe and support children and young people to access mainstream and specialist services.
To be successful, you will have:
* Ideally relevant tertiary education (Degree or Diploma in Social Science, Welfare, Social Work, Education or similar).
* Demonstrated experience within the community services sector in a case worker capacity, preferably in children and young people’s support.
* Knowledge of the dynamics and impact of family violence and abuse and how best to support survivors, including the impacts of trauma on children and young people.
* An understanding of NSW Child protection system, services and legal requirements.
* Experience in maintaining individual case management plans for children and young people, including safety planning.
* An understanding of the health and safety requirements in providing services to children and young people and the child safe standards.

This is a Maximum Term Contract until 30th June 2026.
This position is classified as a Level 5.1 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $97,639 gross per annum (full time equivalent). This will increase on an annual basis in line with the pay points in the Award.
