Our Dandenong Manufacturing Site is seeking qualified and experienced Welders to join our VLocity project. VLocity trains run on the Geelong, Ballarat, Ararat, Maryborough, Bendigo, Echuca, Seymour, Shepparton, Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines. The VLocity is the newest and fastest train in the V/Line fleet, travelling at speeds of up to 160km/h. These trains are built right here in Victoria, for Victoria.
We are currently looking for qualified Welders.
We have three shifts on offer:
6am to 2:30pm – Day time shift
2pm to – Afternoon shift
10pm to 6:30am – Night Shift
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhering to welding procedure specifications (WPS) / ability to read engineering drawings/weld symbols.
2. Executing MAG welding on mild steel and stainless steel in all positions.
3. Assemble and inspect finished product to ensure defined quality level on time.
4. Material Handling
5. Set up production equipment: machines and workstations.
6. Clean and maintain working areas and production equipment.
7. Respect task time and quality level
8. Working with jigs/fixtures
9. Identify parts as required by the operating instruction.
10. Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks.
11. Complies with EHS rules.
All about you:
We value passion and attitude over experience and don't expect you to have every single skill - Fundamentals requirements are outlined below;
12. Australian recognised Certificate III in Fabrication (mandatory)
13. Previous experience with MIG welding
14. Problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial for success in this position.
15. Ability to work in a team environment.
