About the Department for CorrectionalServices
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and hasresponsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctionaloffices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community byprotecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The Management Accountant is responsible to the Team Leader,Management Accounting for the provision of a range of managementaccounting services to support the achievement of agency corporateobjectives.
The Management Accountant provides financial input into businessplanning processes, economic and financial analysis of agencyoperations, recurrent and capital budgeting processes, cashmanagement and financial forecasting, and budget monitoring,performance management and decision making processes.
The Management Accountant also contributes to the developmentand application of financial management systems.
Special Conditions
1. Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
2. The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
3. A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential;
4. A flexible approach to working hours is required;
5. Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
Requirements
Essential: An appropriate degree in accounting, business,economics or commerce.
Desirable: Professional qualification as a CPA or CharteredAccountant
Remuneration
ASO4 ($75,430 - $79,070pa) or ASO5 ($84,522 - $94,003pa)
