MOR.Healthcare is seeking a Infection Prevention and Control Manager for a hospital in Tasmania.Role: Infection Prevention and Control Manager Location: Tasmania, Australia Salary: $105,000 – $109,000 About the role The Infection Prevention and Control Manager is a senior leadership role and is responsible for the coordination and management of infection prevention and control practices including: Ensuring all services provided meet best practice standards, to prevent the spread of infection thereby ensuring that the risk for patients and staff acquiring infection is minimised; Providing expert knowledge and advice regarding the prevention and management of diseases/ complications caused by microorganisms; Providing clinical education, information and orientation regarding infection control to all clinical staff, other hospital staff and patients as required and in partnership with education team; Maximise patient, staff and visitor safety through effective clinical governance and review, risk management, quality improvement and infection prevention and control systems using contemporary evidence based practices; Providing leadership to promote clinical and operational strategies in line with the local services plan and the Infection Prevention & Control Management Plan; Promoting an effective working relationship between the Infection Prevention & Control Unit, Clinicians and the Executive team Being responsible for auditing and monitoring infection control and hand hygiene data, interpreting results and reporting these results and corrective actions to Executive and other areas as required; and Completing monthly surveillance utilising the HICMR tools and guidelines and reporting this to Clinical Governance.Surveillance is to be completed in surgical site infections, CAUTIs, MROs and other significant infections.Supporting the Executive with COVID-19 management and decision making through providing information updates and communication to staff.Work with Front Line Managers and the Executive to meet the recommendations outlined in HICMR reports.About you Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife Post graduate qualification relevant to Infection Prevention & Control Current Immunisation/Vaccination Certificate or working towards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels Considerable recent experience in infection control practice within an acute care setting Strong analytical skills, the ability to challenge status quo and show initiative Proven ability to prioritise and manage time effectively An understanding of epidemiology of hospital acquired infections If this sounds like you and you wish to apply, please contact Javiera 0412 203 791 or email ******
