The Griffith Leagues Club Southside Venue are seeking talented and dedicated chefs to join our culinary team and provide strong support to our Head Chef on a casual, part-time or full-time basis.

The Griffith Leagues Club is a popular destination in the heart of Griffith, renowned for its welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and a bustling bistro that delights members and guests alike. We take pride in crafting high-quality, memorable dining experiences, offering everything from beloved club classics to innovative seasonal specials. The ideal candidate(s) will be proficient in a broad range of skills, have a passion for food and the ability to work individually and/or collaboratively.
The Role
* Prepare, create and present all dishes using a variety of different cooking methods and techniques.
* Ensure food quality, consistency and presentation at all times.
* Ability to organise, receive, store and continuously ensure all operating supplies and food products are sufficiently stocked for a smooth operation of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis.
* Ability to operate and maintain machinery and equipment such as deep fat fryers, steam kettles, combination ovens etc.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment and ensure adherence to all food, health and safety regulations.
* Ensure and control food wastage.
* Prepare, create and distribute all food items sold in our Café.
* Open and closing of the Kitchen and Café.
* Ability to effectively handle customer complaints.
* Have excellent communication skills and collaborate with management to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the Club.
* Train and supervise new and/or junior staff.
* Support the Head Chef with function food planning, costing, preparation and presentation.
What we’re looking for
* Experience as a chef in a fast-paced environment is highly regarded.
* Holds qualifications in commercial cookery or equivalent.
* Strong problem solving and time management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene.
* Available/Flexible to work, days, nights and weekends, inclusive of celebratory occasions.
* A desire to learn and develop.
* A team player invested in perfecting not only your role but assisting others to perfect theirs too.
* Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
* Must be permanent residents of Australia or possess documentation supporting the eligibility to work in Australia.
