HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services. Our Volunteer program is a great way to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person.
About HammondCare
We provide care and support to people in need across NSW, ACT, SA, and Victoria. As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in their own home.
Volunteer Opportunities
* Visit an elderly gentleman at home for a cuppa and a chat
Our client worked as a wood machinist and considers himself to be a handy man. He enjoys watching the news, woodwork, and reminiscing.
The Benefits of Volunteering
Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself.
Requirements
* Aged 18 years or older
* National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
