Sydney Asset Management Permanent This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Fund Accounting Manager to join a leading alternative assets fund manager in Sydney. The successful candidate will have responsibility for providing services relating to all aspects of monthly fund accounting and collaborating closely with the team for Alternative Unlisted assets including Property, Private Debt, Credit and Equity funds. Responsibilites; Team leader for the fund accounting team of 3 Being the go to person for all matters relating to fund accounting and tax across the whole group Deal with external tax advisers and accounting firms as required to sort these matters Co-ordinate the production of financial accounts for all in house funds and the external audits of those accounts as required Co-ordinate NAV calculation and unit pricing of all inhouse funds on a regular basis (monthly and weekly) Take responsibility for tax compliance activities for all funds including preparation, review and lodgement of BASs, Tax Returns, AIIRs etc ensuring this is done in a timely manner with taxation authorities. Ensure annual tax statements for all fund investors are produced accurately and in a timely manner Assist with the development of technology solutions to enable fund accounting and tax obligations to be met, including our own technology platform. Focus on continual improvement of processes and internal controls in the course of your work. Participate in or lead ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications and Attributes 10 years experience in a similar role(s) incorporating the above functions, particularly in funds management, funds administration, investor platform or registry businesses. An accountancy degree and postgraduate studies and CA/CPA are desirable. Practical tax knowledge and expertise is highly desirable but tax advisory or tax law experience is less so. Strong project management skills with ability to co-ordinate diverse teams on complex projects to set deadlines. Strong people management skills and ability to build and lead a team Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and foster relationships with staff at all levels of the organization as well as clients Strong PC skills including Word, Excel An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines Excellent attention to detail Proactive in all aspects of their work Ability to collaborate with others and drive tasks and projects to completion
