connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.V/Line is experiencing significant growth and we're delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects.With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver.You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.Reporting to the Head of Network Control, the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) provides strategic leadership across Network Control functions, including the IOC Duty Manager, Train Control, and Customer Control teams.The IOC ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of daily train and coach services across the V/Line network.Key Accountabilities include: Develop and implement an integrated communications and disruption response framework to drive excellence in customer satisfaction, safety, service delivery, and financial key performance indicators.Ensure compliance with Operational Signalling and Safeworking standards while managing track access and the safety of traffic across V/Line's 4,000km network.Manage the unplanned coaching budget and maintain systems for coach procurement, aligned with V/Line policies and relevant audits or investigations.Manage the adoption of new communication technologies across Operations, enhancing public perception of services during both normal operations and disruptions.Collaborate with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, Train and Fleet Controllers, and other stakeholders to resolve delays and provide critical updates during disruptions and industrial action.Create a high-performance culture and deliver strategic plans to achieve operational excellence and best-practice disruption management.Lead initiatives that engage teams and promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.Oversee the implementation of new technologies, service plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring they align with operational, financial, and safety goals.About you You are a seasoned operational leader with experience in complex, high-pressure environments, ideally within a control room setting in rail, aviation, or passenger transport.Known for your ability to lead diverse teams and make sound decisions under pressure, you can effectively translate priorities into action.Expertise in disruption management, unionised environments, and stakeholder engagement is essential for success in this role.Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Extensive Operational Experience: At least 5 years in a customer-focused, operational environment, preferably in a control room setting within rail, aviation, or similar industries.Unionised Environment Expertise: Strong background in working within industrial and unionised settings.Exceptional Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Collaborative Problem Solver: Skilled in working with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.Disruption Management Knowledge: Experience creating or executing contingency and disruption management plans.Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to convey complex operational information clearly to both internal teams and customers.Why V/Line In addition to free myki travel, we offer:Community impact -
