Our mission is to accelerate the commercialisation of research for the Australian Defence Force (ADF), develop education training pathways, fast-track entrepreneurs' ideas to commercialisation, and enhance collaboration between industry, government, and academia.Reporting to the Director of UNSW Canberra Space, you contribute internationally recognised expertise in space-based sensing and modelling to support the Defence Trailblazer-funded Space Layer Optimisation project, providing expert guidance and analysis to researchers and engineers within UNSW and the industry partner developing a cutting-edge satellite mission simulation tool.Who You Are:You possess a PhD in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience, along with a proven commitment to staying current with discipline knowledge and developments. Your strong leadership in research projects and teams is evident, as is your extensive experience in supervising honours and postgraduate research projects.With highly developed interpersonal and collaboration skills, you effectively influence and work across disciplines, faculties, institutions, industry, and accreditation bodies. As an inspirational role model, you provide mentoring, guidance, and support to other academics. You have an established network at the highest levels of government, Defence, space agencies, and scientific institutions and are committed to expanding research collaborations.
