Position: Laboratory Technician Location: Logan Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week July 2025 with possibility of extension Payrate: $36 – $39/hr + super Maxima is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to assist in providing professional analytical and technical services related to water and wastewater compliance.
The role involves sample collection, testing and reporting in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and other relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Collect, test, and report laboratory samples efficiently.
Maintain and report analytical records to the Chemist/Microbiologist.
Assist in ensuring compliance with water quality standards and legislative requirements.
Support Water Pollution Control Centre staff in achieving operational goals.
Learn and apply standard scientific methods and techniques.
Contribute to workplace health and safety systems within the laboratory.
What We're Looking For: Experience in water and/or wastewater laboratory work, with a willingness to undertake a diploma/degree in chemistry, microbiology, or a related field.
Knowledge of water quality standards and treatment processes.
Ability to conduct analytical tests and operate laboratory equipment Strong computer skills, including the ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
A strong team player attitude with great customer service skills.
