A company specialising in the manufacture of refrigeration equipment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to be responsible for carrying out maintenance, service and technical troubleshooting of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The Field Service Engineer will have experience working as a Service Engineer or completed an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field. In addition, the Field Service Engineer will have experienced working with industrial refrigeration and ammonia applications, attained a C&G F-Gas 2079, attained a Safe Handling of Ammonia certification, and has good practical experience in mechanical and electrical aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning.Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouragedKey Responsibilities:Service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of refrigerating, air conditioning and process plantLiaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential businessGive detailed technical reports on work carried out, or further work necessary to restore plant to optimum operating efficiency; to correctly complete work reports/timesheets to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay; to maintain regular contact with service centreCarry out on site equipment installation to acceptable standards and to commission completed plantsCarry out on site electrical and mechanical diagnostic checksOn-site supervision as necessary of service engineers and apprenticesOn-site apprentice trainingEnsure that the Company s technical and safety standards are maintained in accordance with Health & Safety Practices as outlined in the Company Health and Safety procedures and to make recommendations for improvements as necessaryAdhere to company policy of quality service standardsPerform other related duties as assigned or requestedKnowledge, skills and qualifications required:Good experience as a Service Engineer or completed an apprenticeship in a relevant fieldWorking experience with industrial refrigeration and ammonia applicationsC&G F-Gas 2079Safe Handling of Ammonia CertificationPractical experience with all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning, both mechanical and electricalHealth and safety in the workplace awareness, including safe handling of refrigerants, including ammonia and hydrocarbonsFlexible as will be required to work overtime and be on call out rotaSalary: £38,000 to £45,000 DOEBenefits: Training, pension, company vehicle, private medical, retail discounts + more
