The RoleAs a Project Officer, Active Recreation, you coordinate the delivery of active recreation grant programs that encourage Victorians to participate in ways that suit them and supports the aquatic sector workforce.
The role maintains effective relationships with funded organisations and other stakeholders to provide advice and support the delivery of active recreation interventions.Key accountabilities include: * coordinating, developing, and supporting the programs through the Department's existing the grant management system (GEMS), including generating funding agreements, progressing payments, completing acquittals, and generating reports.
* proactively liaising with departmental staff (such as legal, integrity, grants management etc.)
to ensure that appropriate policies and processes are applied to the programs.
* ensuring that departmental grant management requirements are kept up to date, including governance manuals and risk management plans.
* delivering activities relating to funding programs (including the Together More Active Program), for example, monitoring the progress of funded organisations against agreed work plans, payment schedules, reporting obligations, and promoting impact.The TeamThe position of Project Officer, Active Recreation is in the Active and Recreation team and will work across with the Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) branch, which sits within the Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) group.Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) group is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV), Tourism and Events (T&E) and Outdoor Recreation and Combat Sports (ORCS).Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV), within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), manages several investment programs that seek to increase participation in community sport and recreation by maximising the delivery of outcomes most aligned to Victorian Government objectives and those within Active Victoria.
About YouTo be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience: * Grant Management: Experience in the successful development, delivery, and evaluation of effective grants programs, within timelines and budget, and with high-level attention to detail.
* Project Management: Produces and progresses detailed project plans where objectives are defined, future actions and dates are clearly specified, and potential risks are managed.
Monitors performance against plan.
Regularly communicates with and supports project team members.
Ensures that appropriate approvals are considered.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated experience engaging with community organisations to target government priority groups.
Identifies issues relevant to key stakeholders and finds solutions to resolve stakeholder issues; takes responsibility for own work; builds trust through consistent actions and communication.
