The Role As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team to manage the financial aspects of major projects. Reporting to the Senior Project Accountant, you will gain hands-on experience with month-end reporting, financial analysis, and project-related accounting processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to develop their skills in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Complete monthly financial close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations. Oversee project accounting tasks, including revenue recognition, WIP postings, and deferred revenue reconciliations. Prepare divisional P&L statements, KPI reports, and gross margin analyses, linking financial performance to operational drivers. Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with project managers to manage budgets, track progress, and reconcile project financials. Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, including capitalised wages and value-adding reports. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. The Ideal Candidate Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on project accounting or financial reporting. Tertiary qualifications in accounting; CA/CPA preferred (or currently working towards). Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets using advanced Microsoft Excel. Experience with financial systems such as D365 (preferred but not essential). Industry experience in telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure, property or construction is highly regarded. A proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Driven, eager to learn, and capable of delivering results with minimal supervision.
