QA Inspection – Chemical Lab
As part of the Sovereign Submarine Sustainment Partner, we have opportunities for skilled workers in QA Inspection – Chemical Lab.
The opportunity will see you undertake world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for over 12 months, setting you up for a secure career back home in the nuclear-powered submarine program.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as an analytical specialist in one or more areas of chemical analysis.
* Plan, coordinate, direct, schedule, and implement tests and conduct projects.
* Provide chemical technical advice to, and work in close coordination with, nuclear power engineers, radiological control personnel, environmental protection specialists, environmental engineers, and other relevant stakeholders.
* Research and develop specifications for the purchase of new analytical lab equipment to economically expand laboratory capabilities.
* Continuously improve work processes and utilize manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently.
* Ensure that expenditures remain within approved program budget levels, maintaining maximum efficiency and economy.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Professional laboratory experience with a variety of instruments/samples to provide authoritative responses and complex analytical solutions.
* Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a physical science (Chemistry or Materials).
* Professional knowledge of chemical principles, theories, practices, and methodology.
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
* Must be an Australian Citizen.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
