About your role:
* Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by adhering to clinical governance policies and processes and by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
* Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills including the maintenance of accurate patient records and recording departmental statistics.
* Proportionate with level of experience, apply independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical physiotherapy tasks, ensuring decision making is in line with evidence-based practice and in accordance with well-established clinical and departmental protocols.
* This position will contribute to the capacity of the physiotherapy service to ensure appropriate levels of resource allocation and service delivery across service streams by participation in relief, weekend overtime and after hours service provision. You may be required to work a flexible roster including day, twilight or night shifts, 7-day service, or required to relieve in a rural CHHHS facility. This position may involve rotation through various clinical service areas within Cairns Hospital and Hinterland Health Service as guided by service demands.
* Provide clinical education and clinical practice supervision to physiotherapy students and less experienced physiotherapists, and provide support and guidance to allied health assistants, work experience students and other relevant staff.
