This position also has responsibilities in testing of materials (Product and Packaging), shared responsibilities of compliance to regulatory bodies, and assessment of new technologies. In this role, you will: Packaging Development & Artwork verification - Become the conduit between our packaging manufacturers and our marketing team to provide the design for purpose packages for new and existing products. This includes: - Contribute to the initial Packaging mechanical design for new products. - Lead the Knifeline creation and confirmation with suppliers and marketing. - Contribute with annotations of knifelines to increase our product appeal on the shelf. - Testing of packaging design concepts and artwork concepts via creation of physical and/ or virtual mock-ups. (this will require use of design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other specialised software). - Support the Sales team by creating "near real" product samples to help customers better understand our products - Testing of packaging materials to ensure quality and compliance with "fit for use" requirement. - Confirm packaging materials specifications with suppliers and help create Clorox internal specifications. - Support for sustainability database and packaging regulatory compliance. - Participate in the artwork approval process by approving final dielines, Barcodes, artwork codes, and packaging sustainability claims. Testing of materials (Product and Packaging), and assessment of new technologies - Lab Testing and reporting of physical/ mechanical properties of plastic films, foil, bake, non-woven products, cleaning utensils like sponges and speciality cloths to ensure quality and compliance with "fit for use" requirements. What we look for: Years and Type of Experience: - A minimum of 4 years experience in a technical role in Lab work and Packaging development or industrial design. - Lab experience is a must on testing physical parameters like Gauge, Tensile Strength, Dart Drop, Tear Resistance, TLT and Puncture Resistance. Skills and Abilities: - Good interpersonal skill and ability to communicate with external suppliers in and outside Australia. - Working knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other "on the job" specialized software. - Willingness to learn new packaging skills and be flexible. - Very good command of MS office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams) - Analysis on Laboratory results and reporting using specialised equipment and software. - An aptitude to resolve technical issues and deal with the unexpected. - Optional: experience in designing plastic/carboard packages for food contact products and cleaning utensils.
