About the Role
Reporting to the Director: Enterprise Partnerships, you will be responsible for strategic leadership and coordination of the University of South Australia’s (UniSA’s) Intellectual Property (IP) and research translation activities. This involves strategy, oversight and management of the creation, negotiation and delivery of opportunities for transactions based on UniSA’s valuable technology IP including the licences/spinouts/start-up companies and other commercial arrangements.
You will work closely with the Chair: UniSA Ventures and oversee the operation of the UniSA Ventures entity, a wholly owned subsidiary of UniSA. You will also work alongside the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Research & Enterprise and Director: Enterprise Partnerships to build and maintain strong effective relationships internally with UniSA Researchers and externally with relevant contacts and organisations within industry, government, and the investment community to secure the promotion and delivery of research translation opportunities.

Essential Skills and Experience
1. Significant experience in the commercialisation of R&D, technology transfer, IP, or equivalent experience in a complex environment
2. Experience in the management of an IP commercialisation function at scale resulting in significant achievements in regard to commercialisation outcomes
3. Demonstrated ability to build and develop key strategic relationships and deliver end-to-end conversion of commercialisation opportunities to support strategic objectives
4. Strong experience in high level project management and building sound and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders
5. Extensive experience in leadership and management of people in both a direct reporting line relationship and in matrixed environments
6. Excellent understanding of the industry, professional, and government environments in Australia and internationally in relation to research commercialisation and translation
