ROLE OVERVIEW As a Junior Studio Assistant at Amigo & Amigo, you will support the execution of large-scale, interactive public art installations. With an initial contract period of 3 months, this position comes with flexible loading 14 - 28 hours per week, and offers a unique opportunity to assist in various aspects of our operations, from project coordination to hands-on support in our studio, warehouse, and occasionally on site. You'll work closely with our coordination, technical and creative teams, and will contribute to the success of our touring artwork projects as they travel the globe, participating in prestigious light festivals, community events, and activations. RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you will provide support across a variety of business functions, including in the the following ways: Project Management - Assist with the preparation of project documentation and finance administration related to touring artworks projects. Warehouse - Support the organisation and inventory management of artwork, materials and equipment in the studio and warehouse. - Assist in preparing and packing artwork, materials and equipment for transport to project locations, ensuring everything is ready for installation. Production - Support the production team on various tasks and projects as required. Design - Participate in design meetings when the opportunity allows. - Assist with preparing site plans of artworks in situ at project sites. Systems Admin - Ensure all projects are maintained and updated within the PM software and on the shared file network. Other - Join the on-site team during (local) installations, helping with set up and breakdown of artworks. - Participate in meetings and in project collaborations as required - Assist A&A team members on the development and improvement of project resources as required QUALIFICATIONS - (Completed or currently studying) Tertiary education in Design, Fine Arts, Project Management, or a related field preferred but not required. - Some experience in event management, public art, manufacturing and fabrication, or related areas is a plus. - Strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment. - Basic knowledge of design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling) and fabrication techniques is helpful but not necessary. - Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
