Joining the Journey Beyond family, you will play an integral role in supporting our business as we continue to share special places and shape lasting memories for our guests.About YouAs Legal Counsel at Journey Beyond, you will be a key part of our small legal, risk and compliance team, based at Journey Beyond's head office in Adelaide. You will report directly to the General Manager Legal and Compliance. You are an accomplished legal professional with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited university and approximately 4-6 years of post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law.
Your career has ideally blended private practice and in-house roles, giving you a well-rounded perspective on the legal challenges faced by businesses today.Your skills and knowledge include:Comprehensive Legal Knowledge: Sound understanding of corporate, contract, and commercial law, with additional exposure to property, intellectual property, and/or employment law being desirable.Compliance Expertise: Experience in managing compliance and risks within a commercial environment, ensuring that legal frameworks support business operations effectively.Professional Ethics: A high level of integrity and professionalism in all your dealings, underpinning the trust placed in you by colleagues and stakeholders.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to think strategically and provide clear, concise legal advice that aligns with business objectives.Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and initiative, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.About The RoleYou will play a pivotal part in managing risk and supporting the strategic objectives of Journey Beyond and its diverse portfolio of brands, through delivery of pragmatic and efficient legal advice and contract drafting/negotiation support.Key responsibilities will include:Provide legal advice and support, primarily in corporate, commercial and corporate governance related areas.Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including supply contracts, service agreements, sales agency and distribution agreements, property leases, confidentiality and intellectual property agreements.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business strategy and operations.Conduct legal research and analysis to provide advice on relevant laws and regulations affecting the business, including corporate law, consumer law and privacy.Manage relationships with external legal advisors and other service providers, when required.Assist in the resolution of disputes, including managing external counsel involved in litigation processes and mediation.Support merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence and transactional documentation.What We OfferGenerous discounts on Journey Beyond travel and experiences.Study Assistance Policy.Employee Referral Policy.Parental Leave program.Purchased Leave policy.Private Health discounts.Employee Assistance Program.Discounts on Journey Beyond merchandise.Flexible working environment.How To ApplyThis position is suited to a proactive and outcome-driven lawyer who enjoys a fast-paced and collaborative working environment.
