About the Centre/Service Our pre-school is located in Balwyn North bordering serene parklands. We are a parent-run, community-based service that provides sessional kindergarten programs for both 3-year-old and 4-year-old groups. Bellevue Kindergarten provides a wonderful place for children to learn through play. Our caring and committed staff are well qualified and work in partnership with families to provide children with a positive and enjoyable Kindergarten experience. Description An opportunity is available at Bellevue Kindergarten for a part-time Operations Manager -10 hours per week. The Operations Manager works closely with the President and Kindergarten Coordinator on a day-to-day basis and supports the committee in their role as the approved provider and employer of the service. This position is listed under the Clerks Private Sector Award 2010 but for the right applicant, above award may be offered. The role would be on a Wednesday onsite for half a day with some flexible work arrangements available for the balance of hours. This role will involve: Keeping abreast of current legislation and practice guidelines of governing not-for-profit kindergartens and ensure the kindergarten’s policies and procedures are compliant. Identifying recommendations for the committee as required in accordance with the National Law and Regulations to support the Quality Improvement Plan. General administration duties, maintaining records and preparation of appropriate reports. Maintenance of HR records. Manage enrolment enquiries and procedures, including monitoring incoming and outgoing enrolments and maintaining the Department of Education systems and our own digital enrolment platform. Ensure the service is operating in accordance with OH&S requirements Maintain and review the service’s policies and procedures including assisting with the handover to the new committee each year. Coordinate an induction of new staff members and provide them with handbooks and policies. Ensure all licensing requirements are maintained Liaise with external organisations Provide a warm and welcoming reception to all staff, visitors, and children. Occasionally attending meetings outside normal working hours as requested by the Committee. Qualifications Working knowledge of National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and compliance requirements Understanding of DE funding requirements and legislative/regulative requirements Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. Experience in building and supervising effective work teams and managing organisational change. Excellent computer literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft office packages A demonstrated attention to detail Excellent problem-solving abilities A strong drive to work collaboratively to foster an inclusive, diverse, and supportive culture. Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft office packages an advantage.
