Norfolk Island Regional Council seeks an experienced leader passionate about environmental health and waste management to oversee essential services and contribute to unique sustainability initiatives. With diverse responsibilities across waste, water quality, and public health, this role is crucial to Norfolk Island’s ongoing environmental stewardship.
Closing Date: Monday 18th November at 10PM | Based on Norfolk Island
Reporting to the Manager Planning and Environment, the Team Leader will be responsible for the effective daily operations of the Waste, Public Health, and Environment section. They will oversee compliance with environmental and public health regulations, ensuring that Council’s objectives for community health and environmental sustainability are met.
Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in at least two areas: waste, wastewater management, and public health, combined with practical experience in remote or isolated environments. Resilience, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this dynamic and multifaceted role. The role suits individuals who can work flexibly, manage competing priorities, and adapt to a wide-ranging set of responsibilities.
