Role Summary
This is a 12-month minimum contract position within the Department of Defence. The successful applicant will be working with CNC machining and casting, focusing on the development of prototypes for explosive weapons.

The Role
* Undertake casting, pressing, machining, and breakdown of Explosive Ordnances (EO) under direction.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed.
* Maintain laboratory and manufacturing equipment, including calibration.
About the Team
You will be working within the R&D department of the Department of Defence (Defence Science Technology Group, DSTG) in Edinburgh, South Australia. The team is currently supporting research into guided weapons prototyping.
Requirements
* Australian Citizenship is essential due to security clearance requirements.
* Excellent knowledge and skills in machining and fabrication of mechanical components, including CNC operation and programming as well as manual machinery.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret CAD models, technical drawings, and sketches.
* Knowledge of and commitment to safe working practices, including those related to hazardous materials and operating in workshops or laboratories.
