We currently have a career opening for a suitably qualified and capable Mechanical Design Engineer to join our products and engineering team, which includes mechanical, civil, electrical, and controls engineers who design and process products for a diverse customer group. This role will include working at our offices in Moe and Morwell. Our engineers are team-oriented and comfortable working with customers or assisting Safetech manufacturing and installation staff. Innovative thinking and leadership are encouraged, with opportunities to develop and implement new ideas welcomed. Responsibilities: Designing and engineering product orders Assisting sales staff with customer enquiries Creating sales and manufacturing drawings and BOMs Interacting with manufacturing, installation, and purchasing staff Tracking, documenting, and implementing design changes Active participation in new product development Identifying and evaluating savings and product improvement ideas Minimum Requirements: Tertiary qualification in engineering - mechanical or mechatronics 5+ years as an Engineer Experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in industrial equipment Excellent mechanical and electrical skills Trained in 3D Modelling software, Autodesk Inventor preferred Capacity to evaluate work practices, implement systems, and suggest alternatives and refinements Strong communication and interpersonal skills An appreciation of engineering workshop practice including welding, steel fabrication, machining, mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and hydraulics Please submit your application addressing the core duties, including a current resume and a letter of application, noting your address/suburb via the APPLY NOW link. #J-18808-Ljbffr
