We are seeking Personal Care Workers for our CraigCare Albany home on a Part time or Casual basis. You should be available to work any day of the week. As a Personal Care Worker, you will work under the guidance of our Registered Nurses, assisting our residents with their daily living activities to enhance their well-being and ensure care delivery is to the highest standard.
The Personal Care Worker role is part of an integrated team of professionals who work within an agreed clinical care framework to provide personalised care to our residents. This role is vital in ensuring we maintain high-quality care and high quality of life for our residents at all times.
Key Requirements
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act and Quality of Care Principles.
* Reliability to work to a roster with set shifts and basic computer skills.
* Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
* Certificate III in Aged Care / Individual Support (or currently working towards).
* Previous work experience within the aged care sector is preferred but not essential.
* Current NDIS clearance, proof of Rights to Work, and a current immunisation certificate (including influenza and vaccination against COVID-19, including booster).
Key Responsibilities
* Support residents in living the life they choose by allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
* Contribute to the overall quality of life of the residents (physical, emotional and lifestyle interests).
* Implement clinical and care interventions delegated by the Registered Nurses, and as documented in the resident's care plan.
* Assist residents with their personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging their independence.
* Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and deliver care with decency and compassion.
* Kindness and patience with residents are essential, as is respect for their individual needs. You must also respect their privacy, dignity, choice, and self-esteem.
* Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
