The Opportunity
Orrcon Steel is looking for a Mechanical Leading Hand in our manufacturing team based in O’Sullivan Beach. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
What Will You Do?
Reporting to the Reliability Lead, you will lead and mentor a high performing team in a dynamic and exciting manufacturing environment. In doing so, you will:
1. Respond promptly to breakdowns of all plant and equipment.
2. Maintain, and enhance, the effectiveness of Maintenance processes (including computer systems) to maximise efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness.
3. Support large scale industrial capital projects with the assistance of your team.
4. Ensure safety standards are adhered to, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified.
5. Manage maintenance costs.
6. Supervise and lead the maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence.
7. Establish a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate waste and improve team performance.
More About You
As an enthusiastic and motivated leader, you will demonstrate a willingness to develop your team in achieving success. You will bring:
1. Trade qualifications or degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in a heavy industrial environment with reviewing and developing maintenance plans.
3. Experience in large scale industrial project management.
4. Proven experience in a leadership role.
5. An ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team.
6. Ability to coach and develop others to enhance capability.
7. Competence in the application of maintenance management systems and processes.
8. A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
