In your new role you will…
1. Demonstrate ability to identify and lead in the implementation of initiatives to ensure optimum standards of care including evidence-based practice, nursing research and continuous quality improvement.
2. Demonstrate ability to contribute to professional practice within a multi-disciplinary team through operational leadership, consultation, negotiation and advanced communication skills at a team leader level.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of The Queensland and National Alcohol and Drug Policies, Plans and Standards, as well as a sound knowledge of contemporary issues related to the treatment of addictions.
4. Demonstrate commitment to ensuring contemporary standards of documentation, data collection, information management and confidentiality in providing a quality service.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will provide advanced operational and clinical leadership and expertise in alcohol and other drug nursing practice, consultancy and advice to support the delivery of evidence-based withdrawal management interventions for people with alcohol and other drug problems throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. This position will contribute at a leadership level to alcohol and other drugs health service delivery and development with an emphasis on quality, cost effective, client-focused care in a multi-disciplinary environment.
About your role:
5. Provide operational team leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate specialist ATOD Withdrawal Management Services as they relate to Day Withdrawal to achieve organisational goals and to report on these to the Director of ATODS & Forensics on a monthly basis.
6. Effectively manage self and in collaboration with ATOD Services Clinical Nurse Educator and other Clinical Nurse Consultants, develop staff to enable fulfilment of role responsibilities. Co-ordinate and provide specialist training and professional development activities to staff working with people with alcohol and other drug problems.
7. Promote Day Detox service development by strengthening inter-sectorial linkages, joint planning and the provision of relevant training, education and clinical consultation for the Health Service, carers and other community health providers such as General Practitioners.
