About the Opportunity
The Lead Information Technology (IT) Specialist at Ravenhall is responsible for the daily supervision, guidance, coaching, and mentoring of IT staff, as well as overseeing critical support for the facility’s entire IT environment. This role also encompasses responsibilities related to enterprise business applications, specifically GEO's GATEWAY Prison Operating System (GPOS), ensuring it meets defined 'fit for purpose' requirements across GEO’s managed facilities in Australia.
Key Accountabilities
* Provide leadership, direction, and expert advice to Ravenhall IT staff and relevant stakeholders.
* Coach, mentor, and manage the Ravenhall IT team, ensuring their professional development and adherence to Ravenhall’s operating procedures and policies.
* Supervise and evaluate the delivery of IT services and objectives, providing feedback to both team members and management, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
* Oversee the implementation, support, and ongoing development of GEO's GATEWAY Prison Operating System (GPOS), including all interfaces and integrations with State client systems.
* Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GPOS, engaging with all stakeholders and facilitating effective communication on all aspects of GPOS deployment, development, support and integrations.
* Coordinate and manage the Ravenhall IT team's efforts in supporting enterprise business applications, including user training, support, and maintenance.
* Ensure all IT Infrastructure, applications and services are functioning correctly, secure and accessible to users in accordance with ISM standards.
* Facilitate and coordinate daily support activities for IT users, including endpoint management and troubleshooting technical issues, through the IT team, to ensure efficient and effective job performance.
* Oversee the management and maintenance of network hardware, software, applications, services and user access by overseeing Ravenhall IT team's activities, ensuring robust network and data security.
* Implement and uphold best practices in IT infrastructure management, including regular updates, patching and compliance with relevant standards and protocols, including ISM.
* Maintain comprehensive network and system documentation, ensuring compliance with Information Security Manual (ISM) standards and GEO’s ISMS Policy framework.
* Implement and manage controls to ensure ongoing compliance and certification to ISM requirements.
* Ensure regular communication is provided to the Ravenhall Senior Leadership Team regarding appropriate IT usage in accordance with GEO and RCC Policies, Procedures and Operating Instructions.
* Manage relationships with external contractors, service providers, and vendors to ensure successful delivery and operation of IT Services.
* Collaborate effectively with Ravenhall’s Alliance Partners, Service Providers and other key stakeholders to support efficient and secure facility operations and achieve organisational goals.
* Through coordination and oversight provide direction to managed service providers, suppliers, vendors, and the Ravenhall IT team in managing IT asset lifecycle, IT initiatives, and deployment projects, including planning, procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of IT assets.
* Provide regular status reports on all IT projects and activities to the Ravenhall Senior Leadership Team, Facilities Manager, and other relevant stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising an IT team, including providing guidance, training, and mentoring.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage projects and change initiatives.
* Strong understanding of network and data security principles.
* Proven ability to manage diverging priorities in a dynamic work environment.
* Experience with Microsoft 365, MSSQL and virtualized computing and networking infrastructure.
* Experience with AS400 systems.
* Experience with biometric identification technologies.
