About the Role Location: ACT headspace Early Psychosis Part-time Flexible | 3-4 days per week | Close period Salary: Specialist rate + Senior Specialist + TESL + Salary Packaging Join a dynamic, forward-thinking team at headspace Early Psychosis, where we're dedicated to providing early intervention mental health treatment to young people aged 12-25 experiencing or at high risk of psychosis.As the Consultant Psychiatrist for the Mobile Assessment & Treatment Team (MATT), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping a new service that provides holistic, youth-centred care.This role offers flexibility with a mix of on-site work at headspace ACT and some work-from-home options.You'll oversee psychiatric care, provide clinical leadership, and contribute to quality assurance processes, while working closely with clinicians and the leadership team to deliver high-impact, evidence-based services.About the ProgramThe headspace Early Psychosis service is a nationally recognized leader in youth mental health, specialising in early intervention and recovery-focused care.The service includes three core teams: Mobile Assessment & Treatment, Continuing Care, and Functional Recovery, and operates based on the Orygen EPPIC model, which is renowned for its effectiveness in treating first-episode psychosis.Your Impact As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will Make a tangible difference in the lives of young people and their families by providing timely and effective care.Be at the forefront of a new, innovative service, delivering cutting-edge psychiatric care in line with best practices.Play an instrumental role in reducing the impact of psychosis by detecting and intervening early, ultimately changing the developmental trajectory of young people in Canberra. About You Qualifications: You are a registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or hold an equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.You have substantial experience and demonstrate skills in crisis intervention, particularly with young people experiencing acute mental illness.Your ability to engage with young people, their families, and significant others sets you apart, as does your deep knowledge of biopsychosocial treatments for first-episode psychosis.You bring innovative clinical approaches, and your commitment to early intervention and recovery.You are passionate about education, supervision, and contributing to a learning culture.
