General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) The Society is a lay Catholic organisation that aspires to live the gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope and joy, by working to shape a more just and compassionate society. Position Summary The Executive Manager Program Service (Executive Manager) works closely with the St Vincent de Paul Society – Northern Territory (SVdPNT) Chief Operation Officer (COO) and other Executive Staff. As a member of the Executive Team, the Executive Manager will assist in formulating, implementing, and reviewing Strategic Business Plans. The Executive Manager will ensure robust governance across all delegated programs/services, strengthen and grow delegated programs/services, and lead specific activities in line with the Society's Strategic Direction. The Executive Manager will ensure appropriate Volunteer Management Activities - required screening of volunteers and the maintenance of accurate records in accordance with Society Policy and relevant legislation. The Executive Manager will assist the COO with Workplace Health and Safety across the Society, including help maintenance of the Society Incident Register. The Executive Manager will provide management and supervision of Direct Reports and leadership of Program Services. Key Areas of Responsibility Leadership and Strategic Management Promote and model the Society values in the workplace. Assist in the development of the Society's Strategic Plan and Capital Development Master Plan (including Community Housing Asset Acquisition and Development). Investigate and develop project plans regarding registration of the Society's Community Housing Program with the National Regulatory System Community Housing for approval of the CEO and Council. Investigate and develop project plans seeking accreditation of the Society in relation to Quality Improvement Standards - Health and Community Services Accreditation for approval of the CEO and Council. Facilitate the resolution of staff, client, and all other grievances or complaints at the appropriate stage within the Society procedural guidelines. Provide advice and information as required by the Society COO and CEO. Develop and review Society Policy and Procedure as prescribed or required. Develop, implement, and review the Society Workplace Health and Safety Policy and Procedures. Work with relevant Council Sub Committees. Quality Service Delivery and Compliance Ensure that service delivery is aligned with Society Policy and Procedure and in alignment with standards expected of a Health and Community Service Provider. Ensure that all Programs/Services maintain adequate collection and recording of information in approved systems. Supervision and People Management Proactively supervise, manage, and develop direct reports and other delegated staff to improve their skills and experience. Assist direct reports and delegated staff to supervise, manage, and develop their teams to continue to improve their skills and experience. Ensure the maintenance of accurate Volunteer records in accordance with Society Policy and relevant legislation. Operations Management Assist in the development of the Society's Business Plan. Develop and maintain a Service Delivery Plan with a view toward the growth of programs/services. Assist the CEO in developing and maintaining an Organisational Structure that supports the Strategic Plan. Volunteer Management – incorporate volunteer positions into the existing organisational structure and ensure volunteers have appropriate position descriptions. Prepare for registration activities as a Community Housing Provider. Prepare for accreditation as a Health and Community Services Provider. Assist in the implementation of the Capital Development Master Plan. Ensure that the Society is operating in accordance with funding/service agreements and other legal/legislative frameworks. Maintain the Society Incident Register and complete investigations of incidents when required. Set up a Staff and Volunteer training program and calendar. Any other duties or projects as assigned. Stakeholders Promote the Society while maintaining appropriate relationships with Government and non-Government agencies and the community as directed by the COO. Essential Criteria – Skills and Abilities Relevant tertiary qualification e.g. business and/or social sciences related. Extensive experience in successfully managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams with a period of at least 5 years. A track record of delivering successful operational results in service delivery. Substantial experience in developing, leading, and delivering programs and services in a Community Service Organisation. High level capacity to execute strategic/business plans and deliver on KPIs. High level capacity to develop new or existing Society programs or services to ensure viability and sustainability. Demonstrated ability to operate and meet requirements of legislated regulatory frameworks. Understanding of risk management principles including current WHS legislation and regulations. Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to represent and negotiate at executive level. A demonstrated passion for working to shape a more just and compassionate society. Genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation. Ability to take initiative and remain flexible. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information at all times. Additional Position Requirements Work is to be performed in accordance with all Society policies and procedures and legislative requirements including workplace health and safety and environmental responsibilities. Actively participate in staff training and development that includes performance reviews. Contribute effectively to the team and provide accurate and timely support and advice as required. Acknowledgement that throughout the course of employment employees may be requested to work at different Society locations due to operation requirements. May be required to work flexible hours to meet set deadlines and objectives. Suitable National Police History Check, current Northern Territory driver's license and Ochre card. Perform all other duties as required.
