The Asia Pacific Region includes Australia & New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea and Singapore.The Legal Team performs a critical role in the business by advising and enabling the commercial teams with legal advice and representation whilst at all times protecting the interests of ResMed. Your client base will be the commercial groups across the Asia Pacific Region embracing revenue, marketing, product marketing (pricing, promotion and positioning) and commercial transformation. This job also works closely, as part of the Global Legal Team, with Product Legal and Privacy teams, our Global Contracts Management teams, our Corporate Legal function (including Litigation, Employment and Legal Operations), and with corporate finance, corporate governance and compliance, investments and acquisitions. The Global Legal Team also supports litigation and other dispute resolution. Additionally, the department provides education and awareness to client groups on relevant laws and practice.As the Legal Director, APAC Commercial, this position is the subject matter expert for all commercial legal affairs within ResMed’s Asia Pacific Region, leader of the Legal Commercial Team in APAC and an integral part of the Asia Pacific Revenue and Marketing management teams. Reporting directly to the Vice President and General Counsel, Global Revenue and Marketing, this leadership role ensures the effective delivery of legal services to operational commercial groups within the Asia Pacific Region by advising and enabling clients to achieve their business goals (including helping clients to make risk-based decisions) all the while protecting the interests of ResMed.In addition to these individual responsibilities, this role will work in partnership with other members of the global legal team to ensure a collaborative, specialized and world-class legal affairs group.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesOversee advice and support for commercial teams and all commercial activities (including business to business and direct to consumer) across ResMed’s APAC region.Manage a team of lawyers (currently 4) located in various countries across the APAC region (Australia, China and Korea).Partner with senior commercial management, and play a key role in senior commercial leadership teams, across APAC region.Analyze the organization’s regional legal and corporate risk; offering alternatives and recommendations as required (including external party transactions & extraordinary correspondence).Drafting and negotiating major commercial contracts in support of commercial activities across the APAC region, in collaboration with, and with the support of, the Global Contracts Management teams.Advise and support, and oversee the advice and support for, commercial activities including Sales, eCommerce, Distribution, commercial transformation, Marketing (including pricing, promotion and positioning strategies), Medical Affairs and Compliance.Advise on innovative go to market strategies including novel pathways to reach patients in non-traditional ways with focus on development and implementation of strategic and operational objectives that help achieve organizational mission and departmental goals.Coordinate activities with global counterparts to deliver repeatable and predictable legal advice to commercial clients, other global commercial lawyers, and global commercial offerings.
