About the Role:
This newly created opportunity is for a Specialist - Allied Health Care who will play a key role in delivering high-quality allied health services to our community aged care customers across Southeast and Central Queensland.
As the Specialist - Allied Health Care, you will:
* Demonstrate extensive practice knowledge and clinical skills in the delivery of specialist allied health care services in the areas of falls prevention, pain management, dementia care or cognition.
* Lead, mentor, and support allied health practitioners and direct care staff in the delivery of evidence-based clinical interventions for Suncare customers and their families.
* Provide direct care services to Suncare's HCP, CHSP and STRC funded customers and their families including proficiently performing specialty-specific procedures, and interventions.
* Provide discipline specific support and advice to the Team Leader - Clinical Care and Team Leader - Allied Health Care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate tailored programs that meet Suncare customer needs and reflect best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute and lead service innovations, quality improvement practices, and provide expert knowledge and advice in your practice speciality.
* Build and maintain strong communication and participation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient practices.
* Take an active role in teaching, enabling others and the development of allied health education and training activities and resources.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Post-secondary or tertiary qualification in Allied Health and current registration with AHPRA or other professional body.
* Evidence of post graduate studies in a clinical speciality or demonstrated extensive clinical experience in a specialist area, e.g. pain management, cognition and falls prevention.
* Active participation in allied health care specialist industry bodies to keep abreast of innovation and research and the demonstrated ability to apply continuous quality improvement principles in service development.
* Demonstrated leadership of staff including the provision of Clinical Supervision, the facilitation of clinical reviews and management of risks.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impact of ageing on the lives of individuals, family members and supports.
* High level customer service skills and ability to form positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
