Sydney Asset Management Permanent The Fund Accounting and Operations Manager reports to the Head of Operations and is tasked with all daily, weekly and monthly fund accounting and compliance activities for all internal and external funds under management. The successful candidate will have responsibility for providing services relating to all aspects of monthly fund accounting and collaborating closely with the fund accounting team for Alternative Unlisted assets including Property, Private Debt, Credit and Private Equity funds. Responsiblities: Monthly unit pricing of all inhouse funds on a bi-monthly and monthly basis Reconcile cash to fund monthly Reconcile portfolio to holdings monthly/quarterly Management reporting Procedures/compliance/checklists Asset valuation quarterly audit Assist with fund accounts and external audit yearly Tax compliance activities for all funds including preparation, review and lodgement of BASs, Tax Returns etc ensuring this is done in a timely manner with taxation authorities. Compliance in relation to the Fund’s obligations in relation to Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standards (CRS) issued by relevant taxation authorities. Focus on continual improvement of processes and internal controls in the course of your work. Look to improve the platform in all aspects including cash accounting, fund accounting, tax compliance as it relates to the platform and its continuous improvement and development. Participate in ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned. Assist with bookkeeping and tax compliance for the various legal entities within the group structure where required. Experience: Over 4 years’ fund accounting experience within Alternative Unlisted assets – Property, Private Debt, Credit, Private Equity funds. 4 years’ experience in a similar role(s) incorporating the above functions; a fund accounting, internal audit, risk management or business services background is an advantage. An accountancy degree and postgraduate studies and CA/CPA are desirable Strong PC skills including Word, Excel An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines Excellent attention to detail Proactive in all aspects of their work Ability to collaborate with others and drive tasks and projects to completion
