Your Opportunity
As the Vocational Placement Coordinator, ITS (Industry Trade Skills) & BEHL (Business, Education, Hospitality & Language) you will coordinate the vocational placement and work experience programs for all students enrolled in eligible qualifications within the Industry Trade Skills & Business, Education, Hospitality & Languages faculties and lead the administration team to ensure high quality administration services provided to stakeholders.
This position reports to the Katie Coe, Manager, Student Management & Educational Planning
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 31 January 2026 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Ashmore however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support the administration team by providing relevant training, support and effective task and workload distribution to deliver exceptional administrative outcomes to stakeholders.
* Coordinate a framework of support by engaging key stakeholders (including, faculty management, educators, employers, community services and students) to develop and manage the delivery of vocational placements aligned to the training packages and educational requirements to achieve positive vocational placement outcomes.
* Network and foster positive working relationships with industry and state and local services to procure, formalise and maintain partnerships that ensure long term vocational placement opportunities.
* Maintain current knowledge of industry practices, training programs, products and resources to support educational portfolios in relation to the completion of vocational placement agreements and contracts.
* Provide appropriate advice and guidance on the vocational placement program to all stakeholders
* Coordinate student vocational placements in accordance with TAFE Queensland’s policies and procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
* Coordinate preference lists for students, information sessions and provide first point contact to help resolve any vocational placement issues, or refer appropriately
* Perform to key performance indicators, measure vocational placement performance and satisfaction, prepare relevant reports, documentation and presentations and relevant correspondence that contributes to continuous improvement practices and quality profitable operations of Vocational Placements in the region.
* Refer academic and professional conduct and performance concerns to relevant management as appropriate.

How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
1. Knowledge and experience in contributing to the objectives of a vocational placement program.
2. Proven track record and success in undertaking administrative tasks demonstrated through efficient and effective delivery of administrative outcomes, with a proven commitment to providing outstanding client service.
3. Well-developed interpersonal, listening and communication skills, including written communication, the ability to consult with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively to achieve team and organisational goals.
4. Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
5. Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic challenging and changing environment
6. Sound problem solving, time management and prioritisation skills, with high level attention to detail and competence in using a range of systems, software and tools
Highly Desirable Requirements
* A relevant trade qualification and work experience
* Recent experience in the VET sector and an understanding of vocational placement requirements
* A current driver’s licence
