Level 4 Support - Permanent - 60 hours a fortnight
The College Community
Having commenced in 2017 with 86 students across Kindergarten to Year 6, St Luke’s at Marsden Park is a next generation learning community within the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD). As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. We now enrol over 1750 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in addition to 59 children per day in our long day centre.
Role Overview
The Science Laboratory Assistant central responsibility is to support and assist learning priorities in the areas of Science. They are also entrusted with the upkeep of resources, maintenance of areas and cleanliness of spaces. Additionally, provide support and assistance to our teachers. More specifically you will liaise with the other Science Lab Assistant for:
1. Ordering, receiving and storing of materials and resources to support learning.
2. Preparation of materials and resources required for general and complex laboratory experiments.
3. Preparing chemical solutions.
4. Use appropriate storage systems consistent with material safety data sheets.
5. Participate in the support and maintenance of a small number of animals on site.
6. Supervision as per timetable of students in general areas
7. Any other duty as directed by the principal or their delegate.

Typical Experience and Qualifications:
16. Qualifications in the relevant area of study.
17. Appropriate demonstrated experience in a school or similar setting preferable
18. Awareness of all WHS requirements
