Oversight roles include supporting the delivery of major infrastructure works such as Snowy Hydro 2.0 or the Inland Rail Program, regulatory compliance of government entities such as through NBN Co or Australia Post, supporting Australia’s national security objectives by oversighting the entities’ delivery of major Defence capability projects and establishing a new joint entity to deliver the Marinus Link project.Investment ManagementAs a commercial/policy analyst providing oversight and guidance associated with the Commonwealth’s Investment Framework, Australian Government Investment Funds or Specialist Investment Vehicles, you will be responsible for strengthening the Commonwealth’s long-term financial position to meet unfunded liabilities, deliver on critical government funding policy objectives, and support Government’s investments in priority industries.Commercial Policy Development and ImplementationCID manages the Commonwealth Investment Framework and supports Commonwealth agencies in implementing the Framework to meet the Government’s investment and policy objectives. These investment and policy objectives could be implemented through existing GBEs, investment vehicles, or by working with agencies to support new transactions in various commercial sectors.For example, there are opportunities to work closely to develop and implement major Government Policy priorities such as the AUKUS trilateral partnership and the acquisition of conventionally-armed nuclear-powered submarines, Net Zero and renewable energy policy, and supporting the development and implementation of scoping studies and reviews, such as the Inland Rail Review, by providing quality advice to Commonwealth agencies and to Government.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORGiven the breadth of the responsibilities, CID is looking for people with a mix of public policy, commercial, financial, legal, and/or project management skills and experience across diverse industry contexts. The ability to work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams to provide influential advice to the Government and achieve win-win outcomes is highly desirable.
