Reporting to the Engineering Lead, API & Integrations you will drive the development and management of powerful APIs that are built to scale.As a Senior Software Engineer at Render, you'll be a full-stack engineer focused on delivering excellent developer experiences. You will design and develop powerful APIs, write clear documentation, build integration solutions, and collaborate with both internal and external customers to gather feedback. Comfortable in both frontend and backend codebases, you'll work fluently across various programming languages, balancing high code velocity with quality. On the API & Integrations team, you'll help deliver game-changing APIs and integrations that support our product-led strategy. Primarily using Python, you'll enhance the platform with high-quality code. About YouBS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or relevant engineering field6+ years of professional backend software development, including developing public-facing API productsExperience working within AWS (API Gateway, Lambdas and the Serverless Stack)Solid understanding of the full stack of technologies needed to build and run APIs (Render's API is built using Fast API)Expertise in Restful API design and management, ensuring scalability and high performanceExperience in micro services and designing webhooks or similar event-based technologiesExposure to API middleware technologies such as Mulesoft, Apache Camel, or WorkatoDemonstrated use of AI technologies in the development and management of APIs and integration workflowsProficient in SQL, advanced database design, with a strong understanding of optimisation and performance best practicesProduction experience with observability tooling, Datadog, New Relic or similarSolid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and experience in building pipelinesExperience with agile software development methodologiesExperience with gathering and documenting technical requirements and specificationsExcellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skillsExperience working with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular is a plusWhat's on offer:Flexible working: We treat our employees as adults.
