Services Australia will be using the Aurora Neuroinclusion Program to attract, assess and place work-ready candidates with autism spectrum disorder/condition or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) into specialised roles across the agency.

About the program The Aurora Neuroinclusion Program design uses non-traditional recruitment methods to help find talented neurodivergent jobseekers/candidates looking for a career. The assessment process is tailored specifically to neurodivergent people to accurately identify and match candidates with specific skillsets needed by our business areas. There are no interviews or psychometric tests. The Program uses practical training exercises and an assessment centre environment to identify and match candidate skills to roles. Each candidate is assessed and evaluated against activities in a range of scenarios and competency-based assessments.

Aged 18 years or older Have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder/condition including autistic disorder, Asperger's syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, pervasive development disorder - not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) Have proof of Australian Citizenship Be able to participate in a 2-week assessment phase Applicants must be able to pass an Australian Government Security Clearance. Successful Applicants will undergo a pre-employment screening process. This will include a police history check, a past employment and referee check, and disclosure of medical information.
Notes On 13 March 2025 the salary range for these positions will increase to $76,714 - $109,518. These vacancies are open only to people with a specific type of disability - autism spectrum disorder/condition or ADHD. Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of autism spectrum disorder/condition or ADHD diagnosis, with consideration of the DSM-5 autism diagnostic criteria. For example, it can be the full diagnostic report, or a redacted section of the report that states autism spectrum disorder/condition or ADHD as a diagnosis, or a letter from a Psychologist, Psychiatrist or GP confirming a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder/condition, or ADHD. It could also be information confirming your diagnosis from a supporting agency such as the NDIS or a Disability Employment Services Provider.
A merit pool will be established and used to fill similar ongoing vacancies at these levels in this location. This merit pool will be valid for 18 months from the date these roles were advertised.
