We now have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant, known at JCU as a Remuneration Services Assistant, to join our team in the Human Resources Directorate.
About the Role
This is a full-time, continuing basis position based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus in Douglas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality payroll support to enhance the efficiency and level of customer service of payroll processes while maintaining accuracy in the Remuneration function.
This role involves:
* Payroll data entry, including timesheets, leave, separation certificates, employment verifications, work arrangements and case-driven data entry, requiring strong attention to detail
* Superannuation reporting, reconciliations, payment processing, and superannuation administration
* Payroll queries, addressing staff enquiries regarding payroll and superannuation matters with clarity and patience
* Customer service excellence, delivering supportive customer service and coaching to educate staff on complex systems, entitlements, and processes
* Team administrative tasks, including reviewing payroll tools, guides, and communications
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring enthusiasm, commitment, and experience, coupled with a desire to learn JCU processes and systems, specifically superannuation administration and payroll processing.

Experience working in large and/or complex organisations is beneficial or a strong desire to learn and work in a complex, task-orientated payroll team working to meet defined timeframes and deadlines.
