The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety contributes to the successful positioning of the Quality and Patient Safety service through the provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare both internally and externally, by supporting the clinical areas to operate effective clinical services in accordance with the Department of Health and Quality and Patient Safety objectives.

The Quality and Patient Safety Service upholds and promotes Hospitals North's CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.The team prides itself on being supportive and enabling of all members to develop and advance in this specialty area.The team has a patient-centred focus, fostering a positive patient safety culture to improve patient outcomes and experience.The Role:Providing direct support to a department or services leadership team to develop and implement departmental quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experience.Driving department level initiatives to address specific areas of concern relating to quality, clinical treatment, patient/client safety, risk management, and progress accreditation requirements.Accessing, monitoring, and evaluating department level clinical data and indicators as required and providing relevant advice and recommendations to the leadership team.Driving the use of co-design and consumer engagement within the department and championing the use of Patient Experience Data to focus improvement opportunities.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.

Details of appointment:Multiple, permanent, full-time and part-time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 17 March 2025.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:$114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Salary Packaging:You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
