About the role: Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, you will be involved in supporting the management of all terminal related operations and to execute excellence in the provision of safe, reliable, and effective operations to ensure delivery of product to customers.The location is at Gladstone, QLD and you will be working on day shift with an element of after-hours coverage. Shifts are Mon-Fri and overtime hours are to be expected.After hours on-call schedule is on a three-week rotating roster.Flexible to travel to other terminals to assist with operation and shipping activity.Key responsibilities: Deliver safe and incident free operations to achieve an incident and injury free facility.Ensure that all terminal operations comply with relevant environmental and safety standards.Manage stock control and balancing through monitoring the daily supply situation and taking appropriate action where needed.Manage stock processing and control receipting stock into terminals with timely reconciliation of terminal inventories.Conduct ship discharges and pipeline receipts in a safe manner.Coordinate and perform repairs and maintenance functions in accordance with the SAP programmed maintenance schedules through review of work request.Assist to develop and review documents such as operating procedures, standing orders, shutdown and start up procedures.Perform terminal safety inductions and support localised training programs.Support strategic and key infrastructure projects.Identify and support implementation of improvement initiatives.Support risk management activity and ensure that compliance with Ampol, regulatory requirement, safety and environment standards are met.About you: You have a positive and can-do attitude preferably with previous experience in oil & gas or hazardous environment is ideal. A vocational or tertiary qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical trade or in a related discipline including Cert III in Process Plant operations will be highly regarded.
However, we are open to new to industry or someone who is looking to develop a career within this field. You display high work ethic, eager to learn and demonstrate a high focus on safety.
Key skills and experience: Previous experience in petroleum industry or hazardous facility, working knowledge of shore officer processes and procedures, terminal and pipeline operations is desirable (not essential).Issue and/or receipt of work permits is desirable (not essential).Flexible to commit to after-hours shifts as required.Good sound knowledge of relevant industry and safety standards.Strong planning and organising skills.Ability to work autonomously.Strong mechanical background is ideal.Safety focused with experience in safe operation of a hazardous facility is ideal.Good communication skills (verbal and written).Ability to acquire and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card is essential.Our total remuneration is competitive.
