We are looking for an experienced Spray Painter to join our aerospace surface finishing team in Adelaide, SA.
This full-time role offers a pay rate of $35 - $48.59 per hour in a state-of-the-art facility focused on safety, quality, and career growth.
The Spray Painter will apply high-quality coatings to aerospace components, prepare surfaces for adhesion, perform verification tests, and maintain records.
This role requires a trade qualification in Automotive Refinishing or Aerospace Surface Finishing, experience with aerospace coatings, and strong safety practices.
About the Role:
* Paint Application: Apply high-quality coatings to aerospace components per customer and internal specs, including primer and topcoat applications.
* Surface Preparation: Mask, clean, and prep surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality.
* Verification Testing: Conduct thickness and adhesion tests to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
* Technical Documentation: Interpret technical specs, work orders, and maintenance manuals to ensure process accuracy.
* Compliance: Follow industry regulations and meet production deadlines.
* Record Keeping: Accurately document tasks, materials, and equipment calibration as per internal and customer requirements.
* Stock Management: Manage paint consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and minimising waste.
* Equipment Maintenance: Maintain spray equipment and keep the facility clean to ensure safety and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
* Trade Qualification in Automotive Refinishing Technology, Aerospace Surface Finishing, or equivalent is essential.
* Experience with Aerospace Coatings: Familiarity with specialised aerospace coatings, including high-precision applications for aircraft components.
* Surface Prep & Masking: Skilled in prepping and masking components to ensure proper paint adhesion and high-quality finishes.
* Testing & Quality Control: Ability to perform verification tests (thickness, adhesion) and work to tight tolerances in a regulated environment.
* Hazardous Materials Handling Certification for safely managing chemicals used in aerospace coatings is highly regarded.
* ERP Systems Knowledge: Experience with ERP systems like Quantum to track tasks, materials, and equipment.
* Attention to Detail: Precision in paint application, ensuring compliance with aerospace specifications.
* Safety Focus: Commitment to safety practices, including the proper use of PPE, adherence to HSE policies, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
