About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised Aboriginal Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by managing client assessment upon arrival, directing calls, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for all who visit or contact our clinic.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and assist clients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment.
* Manage the client wait list efficiently, prioritising according to triage policies.
* Handle telephone inquiries professionally, directing calls to appropriate personnel.
* Schedule and manage specialist and allied health bookings as required.
* Update patient information (e.g., emergency contacts, Medicare details) regularly.
* Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, ensuring cleanliness of all shared items.
* Assist with client transport arrangements as needed.
Administrative Duties:
* Maintain accurate filing and archiving of client files.
* Scan and manage medical documentation consistently with policies and procedures.
* Handle patient requests for the transfer of medical records ("transfer in" or "transfer out").
Professional Responsibilities
* Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
* Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
* Proficiency in computer use, with the ability to learn new software.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
* National Police Clearance and a valid WA Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain both).

Desirable:
* Previous reception experience in a healthcare setting.
