The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) branch supports the City of Melbourne (CoM) and its community by leveraging digital capabilities, technology platforms, and data. Our vision is to be a global leader in digital innovation, creating a city where everyone can thrive in the digital age.
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join City of Melbourne in this newly created role of Head of Digital Platforms & Delivery within our ETS branch. As a key member of the ETS Leadership Team, you will lead five dynamic teams: Digital Services Platform, Web Application Services, Practice Capability, and Application Delivery Leads.
In this role, you will drive technology projects from start to finish, manage daily operations, and continuously enhance our digital platforms. You will also ensure robust project governance, oversee integration platforms across the tech landscape, and lead the ETS Delivery Practice to new heights.
In this role, you will
* Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of the organisation's objectives, enhancing business efficiency and technology capability across the organisation.
* Lead and support the creation and execution for relevant components of the customer-focused City-Centric Technology Strategy.
* Manage and secure digital platforms, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance CoM systems and increase value to the community.
* Lead transformational projects in IT, digital services and technology products.
* Oversee delivery practice, including program management, testing, and business analysis.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure delivered value meets sponsor expectations.
* Monitor and report key performance indicators to optimise technology delivery, with industry benchmarking.
* Drive customer experience transformation through design thinking, prototyping, and delivery methods.
To be successful, you will possess the following
* Tertiary qualification in business, technology, or management.
* Extensive technology leadership experience.
* Experience in strategic planning and implementing innovative digital and technology solutions.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.
* Extensive experience delivering and managing complex technologies in diverse organisations.
* Knowledge of various project delivery frameworks and methods.
* Advanced stakeholder management skills (internal and external).
* Proven track record in delivering customer-focused technology and change management.
* Strong understanding of market trends and experience in procurement, tenders, and contract management.
* Expertise in customer relationship management, ensuring ongoing engagement and solution validation.

This role offers an Executive salary band ranging from $166,050 - $202,950 total salary package. The salary will be based on experience and is negotiable for the right candidate.
