Surveillance Officer – Level 2 - 6 Month Contract

The main objective of the Surveillance Officer Level Two role is to oversee routine and specialized surveillance activities, as well as to assist with complex surveillance tasks related to designated contract works. This involves administering road, bridge, and/or maritime maintenance and construction projects to ensure they are completed according to the client’s timelines, quality standards, and scope requirements.
Shift time 8pm-5am
In this role you will work on:
* Provide specialised, non-routine surveillance support for Agency projects to ensure work complies with relevant standards, specifications, and processes.
* Monitor and assist development partners in meeting agreed-upon milestones and deliverables to further the Agency’s program of work.
* Coach and mentor less experienced Surveillance Officers, engineering, and project staff to promote best practices in surveillance and project management within their areas of influence.
* Serve as a technical advisor for trades, engineering, and project staff in their area of expertise to enhance capabilities and improve project and maintenance outcomes.
* Exercise Agency Delegations on-site with significant autonomy, representing the Agency's interests to delivery partners and providing on-the-ground support.
* Anticipate technical issues and escalate them to project and contract engineers or managers as needed to ensure effective project and contract management and work delivery.

About you:
* Extensive experience with the technologies, practices, and processes involved in civil construction and maintenance.
* Advanced knowledge and proven experience in applying the relevant standards, policies, and codes of practice for civil construction and maintenance activities.
* Ability to source, analyse, interpret, and contribute to project, construction, and contract documentation effectively.
* Demonstrated experience in record-keeping and document management within a construction or maintenance setting.
* Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of building positive, collaborative, and constructive relationships in construction and maintenance environments.
* Established planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
