This is an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a Solicitor (1-4 years PAE) to join our Canberra office. As a Solicitor within our Federal Workers' Compensation team, you will represent HBA and our clients in the Administrative Review Tribunal and focus primarily on Workers' Compensation claims.
Working closely with preeminent leaders in the industry, you will grow your technical skills in key areas such as legal writing, research and information synthesis, analytical thinking and commercial acumen.
What you'd be doing in this role: Provide advice and manage files in a clear and logical manner within required timeframes whilst developing sound case management strategies.Conduct investigations, including interviewing witnesses and reviewing documents.Draft Tribunal documents (i.e. Statements of Facts, Issues and Contentions, Submissions etc).Speak with witnesses and brief experts.Attend Conciliation Conferences and informal settlement conferences as required.Prepare and engross reports for clients and claims managers.Undertake work for and delegate work to other members of the team with the required guidance and supervision.Delegate and manage work direction to administrative assistants.Ensure understanding and compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.Stay abreast of industry updates including decisions and changes to legislation to determine ramifications for cases.
