We encourage you to apply and welcome all applications.We are embarking on a new strategic direction to build a more innovative, collaborative and resilient organisation that is a thought leader in developing a sustainable water and wastewater future.The OpportunityAs the Design Assurance Engineer you will be primarily responsible for a range of engineering and compliance functions for the delivery of developer network infrastructure servicing growth.Your focus will be on design compliance for all classes of water, sewer and dual reticulation infrastructure, supporting construction audit and inspection.What you'll do:Liaise with key stakeholders on design and construction engineering issues for network infrastructure with particular reference to:WSAA (Hunter Water) Design Standards, technical specifications, guidelines, policies and practices; Align designs with relevant approved servicing strategies;Provide consistent and accurate engineering and commercial advice;Prepare various correspondence and reports;Resolve non-compliances;Review and audit finalisation packages submitted by the Developers;Maintain a current knowledge of the political, regulatory, legislative, social, environmental, and engineering issues that may impact on Hunter Water’s networks and requirements.Undertake complex works design review and audit of routine developer works infrastructure, satisfactorily resolve non-conformances, track performance and look for opportunities to improve and learn, build capability and drive supplier performance.Undertake construction audits, negotiate resolution of construction issues related to design, and provide technical leadership and guidance to the group.Coordinate review and acceptance of Environmental Assessments.When required, coordinate commissioning activities and planning with internal stakeholders.Maintain the Developer Works Accredited Designers Register and performance of suppliers.What you'll need to be successful:Essential Criteria:Civil or Environmental Engineering Degree, or equivalentDesirable Criteria:Water & Sewer WSAA (Hunter Water) Design Assurance trainingIndustry experience in Water and Sewer infrastructure & network design and constructionGeneral Environmental awarenessEnvironmental Impact Assessment and CEMP preparationAboriginal Heritage awarenessCert IV in Frontline Management or equivalentApplication Steps:To be considered for this position applicants must submit a cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria above and provide a current resume.Application closing date: Friday 1 November 2024Contact: Donna Stephen Phone: 0427 824 395We are proud to be an Inclusive Employer committed to Inclusion, Diversity & Equity.
