South Australia is home to our 24/7 operations control centre and support functions.Our fixed wing border surveillance operations represent the World's largest outsourced civil maritime surveillance operation, patrolling Australia's 8.2 million square kilometre Exclusive Economic Zone.We provide fixed wing search-and-rescue response capability over land and sea on behalf of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), covering Australia's SAR region which is approximately 10% of the earth's surface.Job DescriptionThis role joins the Darwin engineering team as a B1 LAME reporting to the Senior Base Engineers, for the completion of assigned aircraft maintenance,Key Responsibilities include:Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the positionPerform the duties of an Licensed Aircraft Maintenance EngineerEnsure all aircraft maintenance, documentation and certification is carried out and completed in line with the MOE, procedures manuals and responsible CAMO requirementsPlan, distribute and oversee scheduled maintenancePerform, implement and maintain any required shift / task handoversSupervise maintenance personnel and support apprentices when requiredEnsure all maintenance certified is carried out in accordance with maintenance dataEnsure Complex Maintenance Tasks are certified by an authorised Certifying EmployeeMaintenance and associated maintenance records are completed & certified correctly by authorised Certifying Employee prior to CRS issueEnsure Critical Maintenance Tasks are completed with applicable control procedure prior to issue of a CRSEnsure maintenance is completed, certified or deferred in line with the MOE prior to CRS issueResponsible for the general condition, upkeep of the hangar and workshopCompliance to the FRMS and WHSMSM policies and proceduresPerform any other duties as directed by the SBEQualificationsKey Essential Criteria:Experienced LAME B1 or dual licensedHeavy and Line maintenance ExperienceRelocation assistance offered if not local residentDHC8 Classic Type Rating offered if not currently ratedKey Desirable Criteria:Dash 8 Classic RatingConfined Space trainingCurrent First Aid CertificateForklift licenseAdditional InformationWhat You'll LoveAt Leidos, we've built our business on the ability to Redefine Possible and the same applies to your career.Due to the nature of our operations, we are only able to accept applications from Australian citizens.
