About the Opportunity Piacentini & Son were recently awarded a 9-year contract for Kimberley Mineral Sands Thunderbird Operations, a greenfield Mineral Sands mine 140km by road between Broome and Derby. We are seeking an Experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic for a Permanent Full-Time opportunity, based at our KMS Broome site. This role will entail preventative and breakdown maintenance on our onsite mobile equipment. Working closely with other members of our Site Maintenance team, this role will report to the Maintenance Supervisors. About You 3+ Years experience in a similar role Australian Recognised Trade Certificate Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees Experience in repairing and maintaining our machinery such as: CAT, Liebherr, Hitachi, Komatsu & John Deere mining equipment. Current experience in a mining or civil engineering environment, working on large scale equipment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to read and interpret detailed plans and diagrams HRWL: EWP, DG, RG & LF (Highly Regarded). Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen Responsibilities Utilising your organisational skills to ensure you are stocked with the required parts & tools to undertake work on site. Complete scheduled repairs and maintenance of mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner using correct manual handling techniques. Perform diagnostics, problem solving, and fault finding accurately and in a timely manner. Strive for continuous improvement by identifying, interpreting and repair for reuse of any parts and accessories. Effectively work and communicate with other team members & clients on site to prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines. Able to work self-sufficiently, part of a team, autonomously, and conduct works in a professional manner.
