About The MARCS Institute The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development is an interdisciplinary research institute of Western Sydney University. Western’s MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development is seeking to appoint an outstanding and innovative scholar as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience for 3 years. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the cutting-edge project, “Neurobiometrics: Unlocking person identity codes in the ‘Super-Recogniser’ brain,” funded by a National Intelligence and Security Discovery Research Grant led by Dr Genevieve Quek. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will conduct research into the neural processes underlying human perception and cognition, specifically regarding face identification in Super-Recognisers. Working with Dr. Genevieve Quek, A/Prof. David White (UNSW), Dr. Tijl Grootswagers, and A/Prof. Manuel Varlet, you will conduct innovative research using both behavioural and neuroimaging approaches. You will be involved in all aspects of the research, from designing, running, and analysing experiments to writing up high-quality articles in recognised journals and presenting findings at conferences. About You You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident with a doctoral qualification in Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field. You have expertise in cognitive neuroscience, particularly with neuroimaging and human participants, and you have a proven track record of publishing high-quality research and presenting at conferences.
