We are fortunate to enjoy terrific internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients.MHDAS is entering a new phase of co-design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community. This will build on our nationally recognized unique cultural approach to the challenges of recovery-oriented service delivery to redesign our service system.About The FacilityThe Mental Health Therapy Services provides both local and area level public mental health services. We develop and provide individual and group peer support, specialist assessment, consultation and evidenced-based psychotherapies as part of consumer’s treatment within Barwon Health's Community Mental Health services. This includes dedicated peer workers, occupational therapy, art therapy, Autism services, exercise physiology, dietetics, speech pathology and comprehensive psychotherapy programs for personality disorders and/or a history of trauma, education on personality disorder, and trainee programs. This is an innovative and expanding service is based in our new MH and Well-being hub in Central Geelong.About The RoleAs guided by the Lived Experience Discipline Lead, and the Operational Manager of the Emergency Mental Health team, you will: Provide individual and peer support to people with a lived experience of mental distress who access therapy services Work collaboratively with therapists and peer workers to deliver peer groups and education relating to personality and trauma recovery Participate in interprofessional team meetings and support development of the consumer perspective in service design Please note Barwon Health will only contact you via our official email and never use unconventional means, such as text messaging or other services.About You Trained in the delivery of a peer led approach to service delivery Lived experience of mental illness related to trauma/personality Lived experience of engagement with public mental health services Lived experience of recovery and capacity to reflect on your personal recovery processes Previous experience delivering groups About The CultureYou will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, professional and dedicated team who take pride in providing high quality services.
